BRIDGE celebrates many sounds, as well as forms of the guitar. If you've never heard a guembri before, Roufaida's (Aboutaleb, indeed, the daughter of) show is an extremely appropriate time to get acquainted with it. Indeed, Roufaida bridges a super special gap between North African music and alternative guitar pop. She is inspired by the songs her parents played in the car while traveling to Morocco. Last January, the captivating artist did an incredibly good turn at Eurosonic-Noorderslag in which she showed that as a musician she experiments with tones, rhythms and sounds in a special way. And, oh yes, we haven't mentioned yet: Roufaida has a beautiful voice that pleasantly complements the sounds from her guembri and guitar. An artist who will undoubtedly conquer many musical hearts in the near future.
Voltage is the band around frontman Dave Vermeulen (whom you may remember from The Voice of Holland, where he placed second in 2015). With Voltage, the music is not only about his outstanding voice, but also about guitars. Southern blues rock style that is, like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tom Petty and Blackberry Smoke also love it. With his three bandmates, Dave makes songs that would not be out of place as a soundtrack during a trip through the South of America. Top guitarist Ruard Sanders also goes wild on occasion. Their latest album 'Tomorrow Hits Today' was not recorded live in the studio for nothing, because Voltage is really in its element as a live band.
