MAZE
It will be an intense evening at LAB-1 during BRIDGE Around Town. The Flemish Maze from Antwerp and Ghent makes furious post-punk. That means chunky bass lines, alienating guitar lines, and vocals that make sure you stay attentive. Not the kind of band where you discuss how the rest of your week was, really. No, Maze grabs you by the throat and only lets go when they want to. We hear some obvious influences like Joy Division and Bauhaus. Additionally, you can also present some good arguments for more recent references like Kasabian, Interpol, and - a bit louder - These Arms are Snakes. But, oh well, what does it matter: Maze is Maze, we shouldn't even have to think about others. Last autumn, they released Inner Bliss, an EP with six songs that all fall into the category of 'excellent'. So, here's a free listening tip, in case you want to get to know them before the concert during BRIDGE AROUND TOWN.
