MARIACHI LOS TARASCOS
Mariachi Los Tarascos breathes Mexico. They do this, among other things, through their vihuela (a stringed instrument tuned like a guitar) and guitarrón (you know, one of those large Mexican guitars with a thick body). The guitar indeed has many sounds, but also forms. The group was formed in Antwerp by musicians from Mexico, Honduras, and Belgium and creates spirited mariachi. String instruments and a violin are core elements of the group, alongside Spanish and indigenous Mexican singing, which have managed to whip up many groups of listeners quite vigorously. They do this regularly in a rather virtuoso manner. You can rehearse one shout before you see these gentlemen live at BRIDGE AROUND TOWN: 'Ay, ay, ay!!'
